The flight was part of several activities during employer appreciation day the group took part in. Staff Sgt. Philp Philipson marshals an F-22 Oct. 1. The F-22s, grounded by Air Force officials, have resumed flying operations at Holloman. During the stand down, maintainers performed maintenance and repairs on Holloman’s fleet of about 20 Raptors.

Pilots are now wearing monitoring devices to check heart rate and oxygen levels while in flight. This is one of Holloman's safety measures following a four-month F-22 grouding, mandated by Air Force officials. The Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley and Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz have recently approved an implementation plan developed by Air Combat Command officials that will allow the F-22 Raptor to resume flight operations after a four-month stand down.
