More than 950 Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guard members and 350 family members made history when they attended the country's first multi-service Yellow Ribbon Reintegration event at a Dallas-area hotel August 26 to 28. The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program was initiated by Congress in 2008, and offers access to information, resources, and benefits to National Guard and Reserve servicemembers and their families before, during, and after deployments. Servicemembers and their families take part in the Fear Factor Challenge during a Yellow Ribbon event at a Dallas-area hotel August 27-28. The Fear Factor training interactively engaged attendees in a review of resources available to them. One person from a table had to compete in Fear Factor Challenges, like dancing a hula, eating crackers and whistling, bowling and other games. Senior Master Sgt. Gordon Blair, 301st Security Forces Squadron, fires from the sitting position in an Excellence in Competition match, hosted by the 610th Security Forces Squadron at Naval Air Station Fort Worth JRB, Texas August 24. Blair scored 427 out of 500 to win third place and an EIC badge. The 18-year veteran police officer works for the Lewisville Police Department and has served with the military here for 16 years.
