A piece of wing history returns home

(left) Mr. Keith Snyder, local 301st Fighter Wing supporter, and Master Sgt. Troy Quigley, 301 FW Aircraft Maintenance Squadron weapons load team chief, display the uniform of retired Maj. Gen. John E. Taylor Jr., a former 301st Tactical Fighter Wing commander, on March 7, 2021, at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas. The two, along with other former wing members, helped return the flight suit to the wing’s 457th Fighter Squadron after Taylor’s death and its subsequent listing on an online auction site. Taylor assumed command when the unit, now known as the 301st Fighter Wing, was reactivated on Jan. 10, 1973, at Carswell Air Force Base, Texas. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Melissa Harvey)
