Colonel Gregory Preisser is the 44th Fighter Group Commander, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The 44th Fighter Group is composed of F-22 and F-35 instructor pilots, maintenance, and medical personnel. The 44th Group mission is to train and produce unrivaled 5th generation combat airpower through mission-ready Airmen.
Colonel Preisser was commissioned in May of 2000 after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy. He has served in multiple capacities at the squadron, group, wing, and MAJCOM levels as an active-duty member and traditional reservist. Colonel Preisser is a command, evaluator, and instructor pilot with over 2400 flying hours in the F-22, F-15E, MC-12 and T-38 aircraft. He has combat flying experience including over 100 combat missions over Afghanistan, totaling over 400 combat flight hours. He has led missions in Operation NOBLE EAGLE.
Prior to his current position, the colonel was the deputy commander of the 44th Fighter Group, Tyndall AFB, Florida.
