The 301st Fighter Wing Public Affairs Office will host an outreach event for civilian employers of wing reservists May 25 to 26 and is asking for nominations of employers from the wing's Citizen Airmen.

The event, known as a "boss-lift," is designed to both show appreciation for civilian employers of reservists and educate employers on the important roles and missions of reserve forces

"We're conducting this years' boss-lift in conjunction with Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Texas, and Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve," said Lt. Col. David Kurle, 301 FW chief of public affairs. "We will travel to the East Coast and see both Navy and Air Force operations."

The itinerary for the boss-lift includes tours of Naval Station Norfolk, Va., and Dover Air Force Base, Del. Employers chosen for this year's boss-lift will travel via military aircraft at no expense to themselves, thanks to the sponsorship of ESGR.

Reservists in the 301st Fighter Wing can nominate employers by filling out a nomination form and e-mailing it to the 301st FW Public Affairs Office at 301fw.pa@us.af.mil . (The form can be downloaded from the 301st FW's Web site here.) From all the nominations, 10 employers from the 301st FW will be selected to receive invitations.

The deadline to nominate employers is Tuesday, March 15.

"It's very important that the nomination form be filled out completely," Colonel Kurle said. "We especially need to know how to contact those employers in order to invite them.

"We really appreciate ESGR's sponsorship of this year's boss-lift," he said. "ESGR is a real asset to reservists - the folks there are very involved with reaching out to and resolving issues with civilian employers."
