Veteran's Day ceremony honors all who serve

Hundreds of veterans, families and people from the local community gathered to honor those who served in the armed forces Thursday, November 11 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

During the ceremony, the national anthem was performed by Reflections Home School Choir and wreaths were presented in honor of each military branch of service by JROTC members of five local high schools. A flyover was also performed by four F-16s from the 457th Fighter Squadron, as well as a cannon salute by the Second Battalion Marines.

The Keynote speaker was Admiral Patrick M. Walsh, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. In his speech, he honored all veterans and their families who sacrificed in order to serve the nation.

Colonel Ronald B. Miller, commander of the 301st Fighter Wing at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas was among the distinguished guests who attended the ceremony.
