The October Unit Training Assembly was put on hold Saturday, October 3, as family members were warmly greeted and entertained during the annual Family Day picnic.
The event was opened by a greeting from Colonel Richard Scobee, 301st Fighter Wing commander. He welcomed over three dozen new members to the 301st family with a mass enlistment.
The colonel went on to share how important family is to him, and that his priority as commander will be to make sure Reserve duty is well balanced with everyone's own family.
Colonel Scobee also thanked SMSgt Patricia Roark, Superintendent of 301st Fighter Wing Services, for her hard work in organizing the event.
Dozens of kids' games and inflatable rides were available, as well as several choices for food and snacks.
Many units participated in the softball tournament, where the 301st Operations Group defeated 73rd Aerial Port Squadron in a hotly contested final.
Several members at the picnic commented that it was the best family day they can remember, and they look forward to next year.
