Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 301st Fighter Wing Force Support Squadron assigned here hosted leadership development courses for officers, senior enlisted non-commissioned officers, and non-commissioned officers from various units February 10 - 14.

Using course content from Air University, the 301 FW FSS led a combined effort to facilitate interactive three courses; the Company Grade Officer Leader Course (CGOLC), Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Leader Course (SNCOLC), and Non-Commissioned Officer Course (NCOLC).

“My hope is that [they] found this course helpful as leaders,” said course facilitator, Captain Tiara Puro. “[It] included resources to take back and use within [their] command.”

All three courses focused on various aspects of leadership including management, team-building, and resiliency. Additionally, students received resource presentations from the wing’s various subject matter experts as well as learned how those in leadership can benefit from the practical application those agencies provide.

One student shared why the presented information proved invaluable.

“This course is important because it allows you to expand your skill set and build your toolbox,” Master Sergeant David Flores, 301 FW Operations Group first sergeant said. “As you add more to it, you should always be growing as senior NCOs, for yourselves as well as for others.”

As the courses concluded, not only did students walk away with additional resources and new found relationships amongst their peers, but the wing also grew in its own right. The CGOLC was held in-residence for the first time in wing history.

“Our Airmen are not alone,” said Flores. “We are here to guide them and courses like this will help us guarantee our Airmen’s success.”
