Members of the 301st Fighter Wing Logistics Readiness Squadron welcomed Lt. Col. Farrah Schluter, their new commander, September 13, 2020, at U.S. Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas.

Lt. Col. Jeremy Moore, 301st Mission Support Group, deputy commander, presided over the assumption of command ceremony where Schluter took command of the 301 FW LRS.

Schluter is responsible for 127 Traditional Reservists, Air Reserve Technicians, Active Guard Reserves, and civilian personnel. She is responsible for logistics plans, vehicle operations, vehicle maintenance, fuels, supply, and traffic management. She is responsible for ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and combat readiness of all her Airmen.

After assuming command, Schluter quoted an email from [former] Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Kaleth Wight, “If you are blessed with the title of ‘leader,’ lead with compassion, and trust that you will be rewarded with excellence.”

In the first address to her LRS Airmen, Schluter echoed Wright’s emphasis on compassionate leadership.

“I am honored to command this squadron and I look forward to carrying on the legacy of the 301 FW LRS,” said Schluter. “I will lead you with integrity, I will lead with compassion. I trust in each and every one of our Airmen and civilian personnel that stands before me today, and those currently serving on the other side of the world. I trust I will be rewarded with [their] excellence.”
