Mother's Day festivities and unit training assemblies typically don't mix, but from the 301st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Key Spouses changed that.

Airmen from the 301st AMXS honored their mothers and wives by presenting them with certificates and flower bouquets Saturday, May 2.

One Airman who participated in the ceremony is Senior Airman Curtis Frink II, a 301st AMXS avionics technician.

"It's amazing just being able to have her up here with me and being able to see all these other families here too," he said. "It's a really great experience. Especially for what my mom and dad, I believe, represent to me. It's an honor for me to bring her up here so she can actually see what I'm doing."

More than 15 loved ones were recognized during the event that included lunch for all family members and their Airmen.

The 301st AMXS Key Spouses played a major role in coordinating this event, which was the second one that day. Earlier in the morning, they had served breakfast to the squadron.

One Key Spouse who participated is Katie Loth, wife of a 301st AMXS Airman.

"...We were just trying to figure out what else we could do. So, we said there is a weekend that's near Mother's Day, let's try and do something for them...We really just wanted to bring them in to honor their moms and wives."

Loth's involvement as a Key Spouse reflects the need for such a program in the wing.
