Col. Michael Egbalic, 301st Maintenance Group commander, raises his fists in celebration April 2 after promoting to colonel here. Sixteenth century Spanish King Ferdinand created "cabo de colunela's," or colonels, when he reorganized his army. The French and British later copied his idea.
