301 FW Warriors,

Job well done! You took the challenge of the Airmen Readiness Training Exercise (ARTEX) 2.0 head on and did extremely well. The readiness of the 301st Fighter Wing, the Air Force, and our nation has improved because of what you accomplished, not only over the last 4 days, but in the preparations leading up to the ARTEX.

Barring the weather cancellations of the final day, we flew every sortie that was scheduled.  We destroyed over 95% of our planned targets, treated simulated ill and injured patients, tracked accountability of our personnel, secured and defended our perimeter, prepared and served hot meals, repaired crucial aircraft components, kept our weapons platform flying, and did a myriad of other tasks all while operating in a simulated chemically contested environment.

I challenged the wing to go into ARTEX with a positive attitude and a desire to learn, and that is exactly what your wing senior leaders, 301 FW Command Chief Master Sergeant Rob Safley, and I observed. At the completion of the exercise, we also asked your senior leaders if they thought that we are better prepared to do our mission -- to train and deploy combat-ready Airmen. Everyone agreed that we are indeed more prepared and more lethal today than we were last week.

Thank you for all of your hard work! I cannot tell you how proud I am to be associated with such an outstanding group of dedicated professionals!
