Historical 822nd CEF activation ceremony, conducting business as 'un'usual
The recent historical activation ceremony for the 822nd Civil Engineer Flight was conducted in an unusual manner. The presiding officer was at Robins AFB, Ga., on speaker phone while the rest of the ceremony was being held at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas. Shown from left to right, Lt. Col. Frank Mason, proxy presiding officer hands the guideon flag to Col. Gene Odom, new 822nd CEF commander, as Capt. Mark Hope, newest 822nd CEF member, stands waiting to post the flag, signifying the 822nd CEF's activation is complete.
