North Texas hockey tradition honor past and present veterans
Colonel Richard Scobee (left), commander of the 301st Fighter Wing, and Navy Captain T.D. Smyers, commander of Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve base, Texas, prepare to take the ice for a ceremonial faceoff at the 2010 Memorial Day Hockey Classic at NYTEX Sports Complex in North Richland Hills, Texas. Each of their sweaters (jerseys) have the last two numbers of the year their respective branch was established. The game pits veterens of the Army and Air Force against those of the Navy and Marines. This annual event brings hockey-playing veterans, and their fans, together to honor local veterans. (U.S. Air Force Photo/SrA Jeremy Roman)
