Too cool for fuel

AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy -- Staff Sgt. Wesley Foster, a 301st Fighter Wing’s Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels distribution operator from Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas, looks through a refractometer in the 31st Fighter Wing's Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants lab here. A refractometer helps Foster measure the level of Fuel system icing inhibitor (FSII) in fuel to prevent freezing or clogs in aircraft fuel lines. This lab work ensures the fuel quality meets the standards and specifications of safety and effectiveness to maintain daily operations. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Roman)
