44th Fighter Group demonstrates fifth-gen air power, resilience on 10th Air Force tour

Bryan Radliff on how the 44 FG has been completing its mission while also supporting the 33d Fighter Wing F-35A Lightning II mission at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., Jan. 7. Assigned to the 301st Fighter Wing who was selected to become Air Force Reserve Command’s first F-35A unit, the 44 FG will transition from their current F-22A Raptor mission to the F-35. Umphrey is also the 44 FG’s F-35 cadre lead. He and his team will use lessons learned when the group heads back to Tyndall AFB, Fla., to support the newest fifth-generation aircraft.
