The EIS, required under the National Environmental Policy Act, identifies community concerns and local issues for consideration during this stage. Community involvement remains an essential part of this effort and local area residents can still submit comments at http://www.afrc-f35a-beddown.com until May 11, 2018. Fort Worth leaders glean insight into F-35A EIS process
Eight Fort Worth Airpower Council members, the nation's oldest military support organization started by General Curtis LeMay in 1958, attended an F-35A update April 27, 2018, at the 301st Fighter Wing located on Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas, which included an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) briefing and infrastructure facilities requirement. This meeting gave Fort Worth civic leaders insight into what the fifth generation aircraft process entails if the wing is chosen to be the first Air Force Reserve Command F-35A unit. Fort Worth civic leaders tour San Diego
Two F-35s out of Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., refuel with the 434th Air Refueling Wing's KC-135 out of Grissom ARB, Ind., on November 17, 2017, giving the Dallas/Fort Worth civic leaders a real treat. 73 APS preps Hurricane Harvey relief supplies
Air Force Tech. Sgt. Lucas Ortega, 73rd Aerial Port Squadron cargo supervisor, adjusts webbing on a pallet used to secure American Red Cross supplies before their transport August 29, 2017, at Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas, in support of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
